About

Garnet Reid found his niche promoting records on the label side of the music business. He became well known as one of the best promoters in the business, building many rap careers.

Garnet has always been able to connect the dots. When asked what he does for a living, his answer is “I professionally hang out and connect people and things!” After many years of successfully promoting records for major labels– for example, Garnet is one of the people that helped launch Cash Money and he quickly succeeded with Juvenile, BG, Big Tymers, Birdman (Baby), and Lil Wayne. Garnet has built a lot of stars in the music business in his career because he has always taken chances and has found creative ways to get the job done, no matter how challenging or impossible it might seem.

After seeing how the industry had changed, Garnet focused his attention on the viral arena and www.GarnetReid.com was born. He began writing about new music for bossip.com and soon found that he wanted to talk about more than just music. As a true hip hop head, he developed his own blog to cover the whole lifestyle of hip hop. GarnetReid.com is like boutique of everything that interests him, and he hoped others would also be interested. They are. He has sections for sneakers, fashion, new music, industry advice, and he offers a weekly e-blast to his well-connected list of industry insiders and DJs that most artists would kill for!

Garnet has worked with Nelly, Cash Money (Juvenile, BG, Birdman, Lil Wayne, Big Tymers, Hot Boyz), Drake, Sean Garrett, Juelz Santana, Jim Jones, Cam’ron, 50 Cent and G Unit, Jam Master J, Suave House (8Ball & MJG), Canibus, Naughty By Nature, and many others.

GarnetReid.com is THE lifestyle site for today’s hip hop culture aficionado.

Garnet is now the biggest artist he’s going to break! With the respect he gets in the music industry and among artists, his name is his American Express Card and he doesn’t leave home without it.
